Early Years Academy

Learn Basketball And Build Fundamentals On And Off The Court!

The Early Years Academy program is a holistic basketball-based model that combines on-court skill development and gameplay with off-court enrichment, mentorship, leadership development, social and emotional learning, career exploration, financial literacy, and healthy foods.

The program includes the following core elements:

Basketball Skill Development
Friday Night Lights Weekly Gameplay
Off-Court Enrichment
Physical and Mental Wellness
A Healthy Meal

Start Date: January 28th, 2025

End Date: March 21st, 2025

Days & Time:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for Ages 5-8

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for Ages 8-10

Grades: K to 4th

Price: $300 to $30, Dependent On Scholarship Level

Teen Rec Night

Show Your Love Of Basketball, On & Off The Court

Teen Rec Night is a basketball-centered mentorship program that harnesses the unifying power of basketball and a safe “third space” to develop young people into the next generation of leaders. Rooted in the African philosophy of ubuntu—the belief that "I am because we are," which highlights our interconnected humanity— we create an environment for teens to grow, heal, and thrive within a supportive community, on & off the court.

We push aspiring players to grow in the game while raising the importance of their life skills & career readiness. We also embrace youth who love the game to explore leadership around the game, off the court.

Start Date: April 7th, 2025

End Date: May 28th, 2025

Time: 5 PM to 8 PM

Days: Monday, Wednesday

Grades: 8th to 12th

Price: $300 to $30, Dependent On Scholarship Level

PYB Academy

Elevate Your Game, On & Off The Court!

PYB’s Academy program is a holistic basketball-based model that combines on-court skill development and gameplay with off-court enrichment, mentorship, leadership development, social and emotional learning, career exploration, financial literacy, and healthy foods. PYB’s Academy program connects youth around the city with the goal of encouraging basketball participation in a fun and safe environment.

The program includes the following core elements:

Project Elijah Empowering Autism Partnership

Free Basketball Clinics for Individuals with Autism/Unique Abilities!

Join us with Project Elijah Empowering Autism, for a family friendly age & ability appropriate activity! Participants experience our empowering basketball clinic where they can tailor their skills on and off the court!

Experience diverse and inclusive fun offered in a safe, nurturing and judgement free environment!

Dates: April 14th to April 17th

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM

Age Group: 6 and up!

Price: Free!

Magic Academy

Unleash Your Inner Entrepreneur!

Dive into the world of youth entrepreneurship with PYB's Magic Academy! This transformative program empowers young leaders to create their own business while mastering the essentials of Business 101. Participants will showcase their creativity, innovation, and determination as they compete for a chance to win $10,000 in seed funding.

Beyond the competition, Magic Academy fosters real-world skills, confidence, and a mindset for success—both in business and in life.

Start Date: March 3rd, 2025

End Date: June 18th, 2025

Days & Time: Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Grades: 9th to 12th Graders

Circuit Coding with Community College of Philadelphia Jr. STEM Academy

Introduction to Coding with Circuit Playground Express and Code.org

Using Adafuit’s Circuit Playground Express, students explore the role of physical devices in computing. Students develop programs that utilize the same hardware seen in the common smart devices and explore how physical devices can be used to react to the world around them using a “maker” mindset to create prototypes with everyday materials.

Let’s have fun developing practical skills and creative problem-solving techniques!

Start Date: January 28th, 2025

End Date: June 18th, 2025

Days & Time: Tuesdays at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Grades: 7th to 9th Graders

Music Production With Beyond The Bars

Join Our Music Production Workshop!

Create pathways into music throughout the city, running music programs where students have an opportunity to learn the basics of songwriting, recording, and beat making.

Express yourself creatively while gaining hands-on experience in a professional music setting. Embody empowerment through this creative and educational program!
